In the fall of 2023 we began our ministry year with the focus of becoming a House of Prayer. That we would actualize the radical reprioritization of prayer as a community. We would become a church that captures the heart of Jesus as a House of Prayer, and grow as people of The Presence. Through this, we prayed we would be transformed by the Holy Spirit to radiantly reflect the love of Jesus in the world. As we began our journey toward becoming a House of Prayer, the heart and hope was to stretch our understanding and reshape our paradigm of what prayer actually was-that prayer was not simply reading our doldrum tedious laundry lists to God, but the very place where heaven and earth converse and converge.
We surveyed a number of prayer practices and postures to equip us to realize and experience the "immeasurably more" God has in store for His people and for His world through prayer.
This focus laid Calvary’s foundation of prayer; a foundation that marks Calvary’s history and a foundation that is so integral to the life of our church. For it is in His presence and that we wish only to do ministry here at Calvary.
So we may have new a new ministry focus for this year, but it is built on this very foundation of becoming a House of Prayer.
