Weekly Update and Bulletin 06/05/22

Hi Calvary,

I hope this email finds you well! School is finishing up, the weather continues to get warmer, and I am very excited for what the summer months will bring. One thing thing I have noticed though is that it feels like my schedule is only getting busier, so I am thinking about how I can continue to have daily and weekly rhythms of rest and time alone with God. I do love that summer provides the opportunity to spend time alone in creation, and I am excited about finding time to do that throughout the summer. What about you? What is getting you excited about summer?

I am looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday at 9:30am! We will gather together to be transformed by the Holy Spirit through singing, prayer, and listening to Pastor Matthew unpack the Practice of Dependency. We also will be able to celebrate the baptism of Callum John Bouwkamp. Lastly, we will be sent to reflect the love of Jesus to those in our families, workplaces, and communities.

2022/2023 Budget In collaboration with the staff and the Governing Board, we have finalized a proposed budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year. The budget brochure is available here. Professing members (18+) will be asked to vote to approve the budget (in person or online) between June 10-12. To receive a more detailed budget, contact Matthew Hochhalter. Read the first two issues of Calvary Stories (One and Two) to hear how God has worked in and through the ministry of Calvary Church. We look forward to many more issues in the future.

VBS Volunteer Needs Help us reflect the love of Jesus to kids this summer by volunteering for VBS! Signup online at calvaryholland.com/vbs. Here are the volunteer positions we are still looking for: 4 Classroom Helpers, 1 Music Slide Helpers, Set-Up Crew for June 19 right after Church Service, and Clean-Up Crew for June 24 right after VBS.
