Weekly Update and Bulletin 01/23/22
Hi Calvary family,
How are you all doing? Like how are you actually doing? Recently I have started a new practice called examen. Every Saturday morning, I go to my favorite coffee shop, and I examine my week. I will start thinking through my highs and lows from the week and journal about how those events were life-giving or draining.
For me thinking back to this past week, the worship and prayer night was such a life-giving opportunity to be led through prayer practices like confession which I don’t often set aside time for. On the flip side, I have been really struggling to set aside time for myself with how busy this season of work is and this has left me feeling drained. One of the reasons I have started to create this new rhythm of examining is because I really want to learn how to schedule my week better in order to find time to do things that fill me up. I want to be filling myself up spiritually through spending time in scripture and journaling, and I want to fill myself up physically by taking time to be outside and working out. What are regular practices that you find helpful? I would love to hear and learn from you all!
I am looking forward to gathering this Sunday because we are going to be unpacking our vision. We will gather together at 9:30am expecting to experience transformation through singing, prayer, and hearing a word from Jeff Sajdak. We will then be sent into the world to reflect the love of Jesus.
