Weekly Update and Bulletin 01/16/22

Calvary family!

Happy Friday to you all! As we look forward to this Sunday we will have the privilege of gathering together, experiencing transformation by the Holy Spirit through song, prayer and a message, and then being sent to reflect the love of Jesus in our friendships, community, and world. We are kicking off our new series FUTURE CHURCH, and Matthew Hochhalter will be unpacking our mission statement in his message. We also have the opportunity to celebrate Anna Gillmore’s baptism and profession of faith. Be sure to join us at 9:30am this Sunday!

Also, tonight we have our worship and prayer gathering! Our worship director, Zawadi Morrow, wanted to share a few words on that:

“I hope you’ve been able to attend our first couple of Sunday morning gatherings this year. We started the year off with Communion, looking at the importance of worship and prayer in our own personal rhythms as well as the rhythms of the Church. To that end, I’m writing to invite you to attend our Prayer and Worship Gatherings tonight (January 14) at 6:30pm.

“No move of God has ever happened without the church gathering together with hearts surrendered in prayer and voices raised in worship! So as we begin this new year, that’s exactly what we're going to do!! We’re going to gather for a little over an hour simply to spend time with our Heavenly Father.”

Blessings,

Caleb Harlow
Communications and Worship Arts Coordinator

Here are a few things coming up at Calvary:

Sunday Livestream If you cannot make it in person this Sunday, you can live stream the service here.

Grace//Truth Sunday School This winter, we'll be living into our value of being "brave" by working through a 10-part Sunday School series called Grace//Truth 1.0 & 2.0. Centered around human sexuality, this series will prompt important conversations about our theology of sexuality, understanding cultural terms, and following the Jesus way-- who is the embodiment of both grace and truth. Participants are encouraged to pre-order books at store.centerforfaith.com. We are starting this Sunday!

Daily Devotional Readings You are encouraged to participate in the daily devotional reading--Reading for Renewal: Romans. Devotional booklets can be received at Calvary or by downloading a PDF version here.

We have a lot more going on at Calvary! Check out the bulletin here.
