Weekly Update and Bulletin 10/31/21

Calvary family!

I had an absolute blast on Wednesday night during Trunk or Treat! Thank you to everybody who played a part in making it such a fun event. I was blown away by how you all went above and beyond to create a space where people felt like they could belong. I saw you all make such creative trunks, serving food, donating candy, and engaging with kids. Throughout the whole night, I was walking around taking pictures, and I saw so many smiles on the faces of all the kids and parents. I am so thankful to have been able to experience so much joy!

Be sure to join us this Sunday as we have our last Sunday of the Exodus series. As usual we have the opportunity to gather together as a church family, experience being transformed by the Holy Spirit through singing together, hearing a word from Dave Mosterd, and participating in Sunday School. We are then sent into the world to reflect the love of Jesus. I can’t wait to see you all on Sunday!

Blessings,
Caleb Harlow
Communications and Worship Coordinator

Here are a few things coming up at Calvary:

Sunday Livestream If you cannot make it in person this Sunday, you can live stream the service here.

Join a Small Group! Small Groups provide a place where we can belong, believe, become, bring, and be brave together in community. New Calvary groups are being formed this fall! You can fill out our interest form here, and you can also get more information in the lobby after Sunday or contact Deb Gritter.

Governing Board Update Governing Board Update The Governing Board has affirmed 4 Elder nominees to serve through the spring of 2022: Marilyn Rietveld, Robin Maxson, Kent Ensing, and Curt Weirda. If any Calvary member has concerns about a nominee, please contact Matthew Hochhalter by November 13. We will cast lots and commission one individual on November 14.

Much information from the Governing Board has been shared with you via email and in your member mailbox regarding staffing structure, pastoral job descriptions, and voting procedures for pastoral staff. A congregational vote will be open regarding Pastor Matthew's revised position from November 12-14 (online with an in person option). You can find the letter, revised staffing structure, and pastoral descriptions here. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to a Governing Board member.

We have a lot more going on at Calvary! Check out the bulletin here.
