Each year, Calvary looks forward to Global Missions Month. We spend the month celebrating and praying for the important work of our global partners, learning what the Bible says about living missionally, praying for God to show us how to reflect His love here in Holland and we finish the month off with a global offering to help support our global partner(s)! It’s a true blessing to be able to walk alongside these organizations in this way.
This year, we will be asking the question, “What does the LORD require of you?” We will take a brief look into the minor prophets and God’s consistent call for justice. We are bringing back the prayer walk for Global Missions Month and throughout the month, you’ll receive an email with a Bible verse and a prayer prompt to walk with (you can utilize the Holy Here app for your prayer walks.) So open up your Holy Here App (formerly the Holy Ground App), grab your family, friends, neighbors—or head out solo—and spend time talking with and listening to God.
Our 2025 global offering will support our Honduran partners, Aldea Development and ASJ. We are looking forward to sharing the specific projects with you! Learn more here. You can also grab a hard copy of Global Missions Month print handout at the Missions table in the lobby.
Aldea Development
A community-driven development organization that works to empower the farmers and families of La Unión, Lempira, Honduras, through microloans, training, market access, and community partnership projects. La Unión is a municipality consisting of more than 20 communities or villages (aldeas in Spanish) connected by dirt roads leading to the main town. More than 5,000 people live in town, with another approximately 5,000 in the surreounding aldeas.
ASJ
The Association for a More Just Society is a Christian organization focused on the fight against corruption and violence in Honduras. ASJ was founded by a small group of Hondurans and North Americans who wanted to promote justice for the most poor and vulnerable.
