An Advent in Isaiah: Our Advent series will explore the most often quoted Christ-Prophecies or Christmas prophecies in Isaiah -- where it appears as if Isaiah, the Old Testament Prophet, is predicting the birth of Jesus, envisioning a future ruler of God's people who bears uncanny similarities to Jesus, and/or alludes to the in-breaking of a future kingdom that parallels the Kingdom of God Jesus demonstrated, proclaimed, and embodied. We hope this series will highlight the original context in which these prophecies were proclaimed, examine how Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of these prophecies, and consider together how a deepened understanding of these prophecies might just fuel our Advent hope.
